Port St. Lucie BMX

The place to race on the Treasure Coast!

Welcome to Port St. Lucie BMX!

PSLBMX News Update 11/28: This is the last update for PSLBMX.webs.com. The organization will be changing over to St. Lucie County BMX, SLCBMX, in anticipation of working with the County out at the Fairgrounds. Please see www.slcbmx.webs.com for more informaiton about your Treasure Coast BMX track. Thank you for everyone's support.

PSLBMX News Update 11/21: The meeting with the city went well and they were very receptive. However, it seems that the stars are not aligned for a track in PSL at the moment. A possiblity for the future is a new park at Traditions. They were interested in BMX "activities" there; however, not anytime soon. So now the focus will shift to working with the county. We will be contacting them next week. Stay tuned for more updates.

PSLBMX News Update 11/13: There was to be no update this weekend as the first State Qualifer is in High Springs. BUT!!!!! we have an appointment scheduled with Parks and Recreation for next Tuesday. I had to update and tell everyone the news. Check back next Wed. for another update.

PSLBMX No News Update 11/7: NOTHING HAPPENED! Another week of practice getting ready for the first Qualifer at High Springs next weekend. There will be no update next weekend. After the Qualifer, we will be putting pressure on the city. So look forward to something happening soon!

PSLBMX News 11/1: THE 2010 STATE SEASON IS HERE!!!!  Yes... another year has come and gone and the 2010 season is here.  First Qualifer is 2 weeks away! Ideally, the City will take this week to look at our offer and get back to us. But if the Parks and Rec director is anything like the rest of us, he will have plenty to do when he gets back to work. We will sit back and see what happens these next 2 weeks. Right now our focus is on getting ready for the Qualifer. After that, we are planning on either getting a commitment from the City or contacting the County. Hope everyone has a happy and safe season!!!!

PSLBMX News 10/24: IT'S AMAZING!!!! The city contacted us this week and asked for 2 weeks to review our letter. They said the Parks and Rec director was out and would be back on 11/2. They will contact us and we will go from there. Progress! See you at the Battle at the Bay up at Palm Bay. $5000 in purses for the Pro/Am and Donny Robinson, Olympic Bronze Medalist, will be there. Stop by Palm Bay to get a taste of the action!

PSL BMX News 10/18: We will be contacting Parks and Rec and this week and pushing them to provide more information. We drove by the county sites this weekend on our way back from the Fall Classic and Regional Championships (with 2 4th places and an 9th!), it's been a few months trying to work with the city, and the County is looking better and better. We will be pushing hard to see where the City is this week with the 2010  Florida season is starting up next month.

PSL BMX News 10/10: The Parks and Rec Department was given our letter by the budget and management office. I am assuming, they will evaluate it and provide a recommendation back to them. I wouldn't expect anything for the next week or so. The next update will be the Monday after the Regional Championship and Fall Classic National over in Sarasota.

No News Update for 10/3: In this case, no news is not good news. We would liked to have heard something this week and hope to hear something early next week. If not we will contact them and inquire.

PSL BMX News 9/26: It was a slow week with nothing going on. I wouldn't expect anything soon from the lightning fast snail that is the City Government! So, with the SE Regional Championship comming up next month in Sarasota, the 2010 Florida State Season right around the corner, and the Presidents Cup in December, Team Kohl-Air will be getting back on our bikes and racing all over Florida. We have a biig 2010 season planned out and will be racing Fridays at Okeeheelee, Saturdays at Palm Bay or Daytona and Sundays at St. Cloud. Hope to see some of you at the track!

PSL BMX Update: 9/19: The letter was delivered to the city this week. From here, we wait to see if they want to do the track in PSL. Then the city will put a Request for Services Bid out to ensure fair competition and equal oppourtunity. I am not expecting any other organization to submit a bid. After that, I'm guessing we start with a lease or something. Mostly, this week is another wait and see week.

PSL BMX News: 9/12: The letter to the city is ready and will be turned in on Monday. Click here for a copy of the letter.

PSL BMX News: 9/4 We started a new letter to the city for their Park Program. One site that will be included in our list is the Huggins Grading pit on Rosser Blvd. The company will be out of the land sometime soon and will leave just enough for a BMX track. There is a similar park to the north on Rosser, Peacock Park. Check back the middle of next week for the new letter.

PSL BMX News: 8/29: Nothing happened this week. It was filled with personal business as expected. We will be writing our letter to the City for their Park Program this week. It will be posted here as soon as it is ready. Thanks and have a GREAT DAY!

PSL BMX News: 8/8: We are waiting on Sprockets to decide what they will do next. They requested that we not contact the City and we agreed if they approve all communication with the Parent Council and provide a weekly status report for these news updates. The next step is to wait this week to see what the City and Sprockets will do. Our plan is to give them ample time and then we will resume with and accept the County offer.
